Nominating Committee

We, the members of the Nominating Committee, understand our ministry to Christ and His Church to include:

1. Nominate individuals to various positions of leadership and service:
  • Elders who provide leadership of the Body of Christ and attend to matters of membership who are also leaders and examples of godly discipleship as they provide for the proclamation of the Gospel
  • Deacons who minister to the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of our congregation through faith, prayer or other means in our church
2. Appoint and accept people willing to assist elders and deacons in the Body of Christ

3. Guided by Titus 1:6-9 and 1 Peter t:1-4, we will prayerfully consider who might serve as spiritual leaders. Romans 12:9-18 will be used as a model for the character of the leaders and servants under consideration.

4. Pray for our church family, Pastor, Elders and Deacons using the guidelines found in Colossians 1:9-13

5. Ensure training is avilable for Deacons and Elders to equip them for their responsibilities.

Scripture below found on Biblegateway

Titus 1:6-9

New International Version (NIV)
An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe[a] and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

Romans 12:9-18

New International Version (NIV)

Love in Action

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.[a] Do not be conceited.
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

1 Peter 5:1-4

New International Version (NIV)

To the Elders and the Flock

To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed: Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

Colossians 1:9-13

New International Version (NIV)
For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,[a] 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, 12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you[b] to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,
